1942 Cherryfield Maine Flash Flood Photographs

A client Kathy Williams Curtis of Massachusetts shared some photos from her scrapbook collection. Kathy was recently accepted into the Maine Mayflower Society. She is a direct descendant of James Chilton. Her ancestor Thaddeus Langdon Dunbar who married Alice L Burnham lived in Cherryfield, Maine. Some of their children witnessed the 1942 massive flash flood in the Narragaugus River. This is the home the Dunbar family resided in and below are some more photo clips from old newspaper archives taken during flood.
