Joseph Oliver Stearns and Hellen Louise Dennett


Joseph Oliver Stearns (1838-1917) and Hellen Louise "Nell" Dennett (1843-1874) were married in Amesbury, Massachusetts, on January 1, 1867. Joseph fought in the United States Civil War for the Union Side. He was a private in the 3rd Unattached Company, Massachusetts Infantry (Militia)--Mustered in for 90 days' service May 3, 1864, and on duty at Fort Pickering, Salem, Mass. He was mustered out August 5, 1864. Louise born in Amesbury to John Dennett and Louisa Frost. Joseph was born in Salisbury, Massachusetts, to Charles Oliver and Adeline Eastman.
